Giving Options & Opportunities
The Florida Baptist Foundation was started in 1947, as a tax-exempt charitable foundation to enable people like you to more easily and effectively support the causes and ministries of Baptist Churches, Convention Agencies and missions programs that they care about. The Florida Baptist Foundation is an agency of the Florida Baptist State Convention.
The Foundation manages named funds established by many separate donors – individuals, families, churches, and ministries – principally for the benefit of Baptist churches, missions and ministries both at home and around the world.
There is a very important distinction between giving "to" and giving "through" the Florida Baptist Foundation. The Florida Baptist Foundation is a tool to connect you and your gifts with charitable ministries and causes that matter to you now and to help you achieve your long-term charitable giving desires.
Contributions of all sizes are welcomed. You may contribute to an existing fund, or you can set up your own fund with a gift of $1,000 or more.
So where should you begin?
First you consider what you want to achieve:
Giving back to a ministry or church by creating an endowment to meet its future needs? Ensuring that a favorite ministry or organization will receive support far into the future? Finding a cost efficient way to make gifts? Maximizing tax advantages in any given year? Finding a way to involve family members in charitable giving? Remembering or honoring a loved one?
Next, consider the giving options and decide how and when you want to give:
An outright gift such as cash, securities, or real estate?
A deferred gift using a vehicle such as a trust, insurance policy or an IRA?
A bequest through your will?
Then, in consultation with you and/or with your professional advisor, The Florida Baptist Foundation will help you design a flexible and personal charitable legacy: The Florida Baptist Foundation makes it easy for you to connect generosity with need.
